Police Chief's Biography        

Chief Ken Giles is a long time resident of the Saugatuck Douglas area, a Saugatuck High School graduate, and served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Ken worked thirty years with the Allegan County Sheriffs Department as Road Patrol Deputy, Sergeant, and Road Patrol Supervisor. He also served as Administrator of the Marine and Snowmobile Division and was in charge of the Sheriffs Dive Team, a team responsible for search and rescue operations throughout the county. Ken was appointed too the position of Chief of Police in 2007.

Ken and his wife Rose, a childhood sweetheart, have been married for forty years. Together they have raised their three sons and assisted in raising their  five grandchildren. Ken enjoys playing old time baseball, playing water sports, spending time with his grandchildren and playing his x-box 360 games.
